PTFE rod is commonly used in high temperature and chemical contact applications due to it's excellent resistance to heat, solvents and chemicals. It also has a very low coefficient of friction, good thermal stability and good electrical properties. The addition of a 25% carbon filler improves the materials dimensional stability, wear and creep resistance and dynamic bearing performance as well as raising the heat deflection temperature.
